Drug-related nephrotic syndrome has been described in connection with the use of trimethadione, penicillamine, captopril, probenicid, ethosuximide, methimazole, lithium, procainamide, chlorpropamide, phenytoin, paramethadione, tolbutamide, some of the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and certain heavy metals (e.g., gold, mercury-containing medications).
